Since I’ve been lately spending more time in my own bed and in hospital beds than at my sewing and embroidery machines, honestly… I haven’t been working on much at all.
But little by little I’m getting my energy — and especially my enthusiasm — back, so I truly believe things will only get better from here.
In any case, even under the circumstances, everything feels much more optimistic now than this time last year, when our boiler burst during the coldest days and I was embroidering like an Eskimo woman
.

I can laugh about it now, of course — but honestly, it wasn’t easy back then. Embroidering with frozen fingers is quite a battle.
I’d love to start working on new things — I have plenty of ideas — but right now my biggest priority is finishing all the projects that are already in progress. Many of them were promised long time ago, and then got pushed aside because of orders (especially christening gowns that I embroider for my local customers), so hopefully NOW I’ll finally be able to finalize my WIPs.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, the new Floral Hearts set will take priority. It’s been ready and tested for quite some time but as usual, everything got stuck at the photography and finishing stage, including preparing the documentation (color charts and guides), so you won’t be guessing at your machines.
Recently I had a chance to look at designs from some other creators, and I was surprised to see that they don’t bother with documentation or instructions at all. Personally, after more than 25 years in this business, I’m not going to change my habits — I’d rather release fewer designs, but with full support and clear guidance.
But back to what’s coming next.
Set Floral Hearts No. 1 was very popular

So I hope you’ll like the second set too. Once again it includes hearts decorated with flowers — some simpler, some more rich in details — so that everyone can find what he/she needs.

After the hearts, set named Floral Appliqués 1 for larger hoops should finally be next. I can’t even say how long this set has been ready — it even has photos — but again, it got delayed because of the photo tutorial. It really matters to me that even absolute beginners can embroider appliqués perfectly, without stray threads or fraying fabric. For me, there’s nothing uglier than an imperfect appliqué.

And while it’s still winter, I’d also love to release Mr. Penguin.

You may already know him in a smaller size from this set. I originally planned to redigitize the whole collection for larger hoops, but since not all designs can be transformed well for a 5×7 frame, I might create a smaller set of just a few designs or offer this boy as a single design. I need to decide quickly… before spring arrives.
Of course, there’s much more in progress, but I’ll probably save that for February.
And what about you? Are you still resting after the pre-Christmas rush, or have you already started preparing your spring embroideries?![]()
