Freebie Friday #29

This is a small embroidery design that is perfect for both children’s and women’s clothing, such as blouses, dresses, and T-shirts. It looks beautiful on a pocket, but it can also be used to complement larger embroidery designs, to frame lettering, embellish quilts, decorate home textiles, and much more.

I personally use this design on the christening gowns that I make. These have a great success as they are elegant and delicate.

One of the things I love most about designs like this is how dramatically they can be transformed simply by changing the thread colors. Replacing the brighter pastel shades with softer, more muted tones gives the embroidery a completely different look and feel.

Another option is to stitch the design in a single color, as shown on the christening gowns. The result is a subtle, elegant embroidery that suits many different projects.

The motif can also be combined into long borders, mirrored, or repeated to create decorative frames.
