Freebie Friday #28

Free embroidery design

This weekend’s free embroidery design will delight everyone who loves delicate floral motifs.

This time I’ve chosen a design from my Delicate Roses 2 collection, which is one of my favourite romantic series. If you enjoy soft floral motifs that feel neither heavy nor cluttered, today’s embroidery design might be for you.

The motif combines a rose with a light linear background reminiscent of lace or a delicate mesh. This gives it an airy, elegant look without being too bold. The combination of solid fills with very fine stitching is one of the things I enjoy most when creating embroidery designs.

Like all my embroidery designs, this also is not a product of automatic digitizing. Every stitch was manually punched in Embird, where from the very beginning I try to think not only about the look, but also about the actual stitching process. I know from my own experience how frustrating an embroidery can be when it looks beautiful in a picture but brings one unpleasant surprise after another when you stitch it. During the creation process I gradually refine and adjuste the design, then test it on various types of embroidery machines. This gives me confidence that the finished embroidery not only looks great on screen, but also in reality.

If you like the style of today’s freebie, you can find the complete Delicate Roses 2 collection in my online shop, as well as the first part of the series, Delicate Roses 1. The collections contain many floral patterns created in the same spirit — delicate, romantic and suitable for a wide range of projects. The designs can be combined together, making it possible to create compositions even for large areas.

Over the years I’ve used these designs for many different projects.

The embroidery designs also look stunning in monocolor versions.

Today’s freebie is available as usual in DST, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP and VP3 formats. Simply download the file, unzip the archive, transfer the appropriate format to your machine, and start stitching. If you need a different format, just let me know. And if you’re unsure what to do with a .zip archive, I can send you the file already unzipped in the right format for your machine — you’ll then just need to send it to the machine via USB or Wi-Fi. Please note, however, that this only applies while the pattern is available for free download, i.e. until 28 June 2026.

If you decide to try the design, I’d love it if you shared your result with me. It always makes me happy to see how creatively you use my designs and how each project takes on a completely different character depending on the materials and colours chosen.

I hope you enjoy the new embroidery design — you can download it by clicking HERE. And if you’ve been tempted by the other rose designs, all my embroidery sets are on BOGO sale in June so you can take the advantage of it.

Wishing you happy stitching — and don’t forget to keep yourself cool and safe in these hot summer days!
